The National Ozone Unit of NEPA in coordination with ALPHA Afghanistan conducted a 2-day training workshop (ECHO) on 11 and 12 February 2020.
The training was officially started with speeches from Eng. Ezatullah Sediqi Deputy Director-General of National Environmental Protection Agency, Ms. Hanifa Griowal Deputy Governor of Kabul, and Mr. Nisar Ahmad Bahawi Environment Ambassador of Afghanistan.
More than 60 representatives from civil society, university students, and environment activists attended this training. the training was aimed to enhance the capacity of the participants on important environmental issues and to find solutions to major environmental challenges in the country.
During this training scientific presentation on Multilateral environmental agreements, the importance of ozone layer and Montreal Protocol, climate change, environment and psychology, energy efficiency, and role of CSOs in the environment were presented to the participants.
Furthermore, participants were divided into groups to discuss the challenges and opportunities and design social campaigns and projects for public awareness on environmental issues.
The training ended with certificate distribution to the participants by the National Ozone Unit of NEPA and ALPHA Afghanistan.
